He was wrong indeed.

John McCain voted against a national Martin Luther King holiday in 1983. Wait. 1983? 1983?!?

Good gravy, that was not long ago. Particularly for a guy who personally remembers Pearl Harbor.

McCain sounds like the racist grandpa that makes you cringe at family gatherings. You put up with him on Christmas because he’s too old to change, but you wouldn’t want him to be in charge of the local McDonald’s—never mind the most powerful position of authority in the world.
