Bumpass, Virginia

According to 2000 census numbers, Bumpass had a larger population than Wasilla, Alaska (where Sarah Palin was mayor) in 2000. Assuming their populations grew at the same rate, Bumpass is probably still about the same size as Wasilla, or bigger.

Now unlike Plattsburgh, New York and Montrose, Colorado, Bumpass doesn’t actually technically have a mayor, let alone a mayor prepared to handle global warming or our national health care crisis. But somehow it seems that this thriving metropolis has managed to avoid falling into total anarchy. Amazing.

Meet Donald Kasprzak.

He’s the mayor of Plattsburgh, New York. Plattsburgh has a population more than twice that of Wasilla, Alaska, where McCain’s VP pick Sarah Palin was mayor (the most powerful elected office she held prior to becoming Alaska’s Governor just a year and a half ago).

As you can imagine, governing a city the size of Plattsburgh requires a tremendous understanding of foreign policy (it’s right next to Canada!), troop deployments in Iraq, and national health care legislation. And road salt.

Yep. Donald Kasprzak is qualified to hold the most powerful office in the world, no question about it.

Meet Erica Lewis Kennedy (center).

Erica is the mayor of the majestic Montrose, Colorado.

Montrose is almost twice the size of Wasilla, Alaska, where McCain’s Vice Presidential pick Sarah Palin was mayor (The office Palin held before becoming governor of Alaska a year and a half ago). So as you can imagine, Montrose is HUGE! And I would trust Erica to take the reins of the biggest nuclear superpower in the world any day. Negotiations with Putin? No problem! Just look at how masterfully she’s handled the annual preschooler Halloween costume contest!
